The three roles
Tobinrin uses Better Auth organizations with three built-in roles. Every team member on /service-specialist/team has exactly one of these:
- Owner — full organizational access. Owners can manage business settings, services, bookings, clients, reports, payments configuration, and the rest of the team. There is exactly one owner per organization and that slot cannot be changed from the team page.
- Admin — manages most day-to-day operations, including services, bookings, clients, reports, and team management for everyone except the owner.
- Member — a staff-level account for specialists or support staff. Members can work with assigned bookings and clients, but they do not control the organization itself.
Location and service access
Role is not the only control. When you invite or edit a team member, you also pick which locations and services they can access. A member account restricted to the Lekki location will never see bookings from other locations in their calendar or in reports.
You can also mark someone as bookable or non-bookable. Non-bookable team members can still work inside the business account without appearing as appointment choices during booking.
Combine these controls so that, for example, a junior stylist can be a Member scoped to a single location and a small set of services, while an operations lead can be an Admin with broad access but remain non-bookable.
Changing a role later
From /service-specialist/team, open a member and use the Change Access Role dropdown. The change takes effect immediately. Role changes are only available to owners and admins, and the owner slot cannot be modified in the UI.
