How refunds work

Understand cancellation refund calculations, processing, and cases that need support.

Cancellation refunds

When a shopper cancels, Tobinrin uses the applicable cancellation policy to calculate any eligible refund:

  • The system looks at how much notice the shopper gave.
  • It finds the matching refund rule (e.g. "at least 48 hours โ†’ 50%").
  • Eligible online refunds are queued for processing through the payment provider. Refunds cannot exceed the eligible online amount collected.

This means the way to control refunds is to set the right cancellation policy.

What the shopper sees

When a shopper opens the cancel dialog, they see the calculated refund amount before confirming. The booking can be cancelled while the refund is still pending. Processing failures or missing payment information can require support follow-up.

Payments collected directly from the shopper outside Tobinrin must be handled with the shopper separately. See shopper refund guidance for payment-provider timing and what to do when a refund is delayed.

Non-refundable deposits

If a refund rule applies a 0% refund, the deposit is non-refundable for that notice window. The shopper sees a message that the booking is not refundable before they confirm the cancellation.
